Dream builds
Looking thru a couple build threads last night got me wondering what would I do to my truck if I had the cash and time to do it.....then I got to wondering what you guys would do to your own trucks.

Here's mine.
My truck is a 04 FX4 Rcab.....1st thing would be a complete 05+ 3/4 ton suspension and running gear with 4.88 gears and it would sit on 38x15.50 super swamper STS all terrains on the street and 38.5x11 Supper Swamper Boggers cut for play. Then I'd take a 6.2L out of a Raptor with 6R80 trans and T-case. The 6.2 would get a 2.9L(tuned to 700 rwhp) whipple and longtubes, no cats dual 3 inch exhaust with Magnaflow Magnapack mufflers and 4 inch tips exiting out before the right rear tire.

if you had the money to do all that...why not just buy a Raptor and lift it ...

1 because I like my Rcab, and 2 it will be cheaper to build my truck, 3 this setup will still tow a heavy trailer, the pre-runner style suspension hurts towing capabilaty

I have said this elsewhere and will say it here. I love my '04. It is like broken in jeans and hiking boots... It fits just right...
If I had the $$ to do anything I wanted to it. I would..
#1. Get the inside of the inner wheel wells trimming job cleaned up, primed, painted, and rhino lined professionally. I do NOT want to lift any further, My wife is 5' 0" and is already on the edge of being snippy about the level and 35s...
#2. Full on true dual custom exhaust with a mellow, not LOUD note. MUST stay clear of anything heat sensitive like my spare tire!
#3. ARB Air lockers front and rear, with a compressor, reservoir tank, and access ports for impact / inflator hoses etc... While I am in the pumpkins, 4:56 gears.
#4. Fresh bulletproof tranny rebuild. The trans is fine, just this model tranny is a known weak spot.
#5. Leather interior conversion. My fabrics, especially the drivers seat, are getting worn.
#6. Integrate LED "flood" lights into rear bumper switched off of reverse light switch.
#7. Figure out some sort of antenna mount that would allow me to use a slide in camper, and my 102" CB whip... I figure rear bumper mount is about my only chance... Probably have to use a ball mount...
#8. E-fans.
#9. Someone else to do the plugs / tune up for me. I don't want to!
Other than that, honestly, my truck is taking shape very quickly to be my dream truck...

- PHP Edge
- Rancho Quicklifts (F) / RS6000 rear
- Firestone Airbags / on-board compressor / reserve tank
- Skid plates (haven't really decided which kind yet)
- Troyer e-Fans
- Troyer underdrive pulleys
- Dynatech Headers (the kind that include new CATs)
- Magnaflow CAT-back
- Remove factory bed-liner and go with spray-in
- Have my seats reupholstered in leather
- Double-din Blu-ray/DVD
- On the maybe side ... slightly more aggressive cams and possibly phaser lockouts (if I can still pass emissions with them).
I like my factory wheels and Cooper 33s...but I may consider something different there too.
The idea of a whipple intrigues me, but I don't know if I trust this engine of mind to stay together with one. I suppose if money wasn't an issue, I would definitely drop in a professionally massaged 5.4L and a whipple.
