Really? So all do-it-yourselfers should have already needed a torque wrench at some point? How do you figure? I have done multiple lawnmower repairs, outboard maintence, auto maintance, electrical work, plumming work, framing, and varius farm equipement and hydraulic tractor repairs and never once have i needed a torque wrench. This is the first rotor replacement i have tried to do on a vehicle.

JP2085, you must be the all mighty bestest of DIY'ers cause you have a torque wrench. Thank you for your usless reply.

Its getting to be a PITA to get on here any more with some of the replies that people have.
lol.
I just thought it was funny you whining about Ford making it "tough for the do-it-yourself crowd." Making it tough by needing a torque wrench and a new nut?
Sorry, wasn't trying to make you butthurt.
My reply wasn't totally useless. I told you the torque spec and where to get a nut. Answered 2 out of 2 of your questions.

Well today i found out some useful info. Ford Dealer wants $25 per spindle nut but found a Auto Zone that could get them for me today for $18 each. There are some places online with the spindle nuts for a few dollars cheaper than Auto zone but they wouldnt get here as fast. Also, i can rent the socket, breaker bar, and torque wrench from Auto Zone for free. I just have to put down a deposit for the tools and i get the total amount returned to me when i bring the tools back.

Have any of you experienced different autozones carrying different things. The auto zone two blocks from my house is not listed as a carrier of AC Delco products and im guessing thats why the guy there told me they couldnt get them. Or maybe he just didnt know what he was talking about. When i called the Auto zone that im getting the spindle nuts from (next town down the road) said they could get them about 12:30 pm today and acted like that was a normal part that they have ordered frequently. Got to give props to Auto zone for free tool rentals. I think i will continue to use this auto zone instead of the one two blocks from me. Seems like they know what they are doing there.

JP, my butt doesnt hurt and im sorry but i was agrivated about the whole deal yesterday.
Sorry i came on here whinning about ford but i just have been all but impressed with my F150's rotors. I have never towed anything heavier than 4k lbs and the two times that i towed around that much, it was a very short distance. Most of the time im towing loads at 2k lbs or less for short distances and im not hard on the brake pedal. The little amount of towing i have done has contributed to warped front rotors at the 20k mile marker that i had turned but had plenty of brake pad life left, rear rotor warping at 40k miles that were replaced with new brake pads and now im replacing warped front rotors at 46k miles and the front brake pads are low but not completely used up. Im sorry but thats horrible for rotors to warp that fast. Guess my next vehicle will be a F250 since my F150 cant handle towing single axle trailers like my 16ft boat trailer or a utility trailer with 1500lbs of equipment on it without warping the freaking rotors. Sorry but thats just horrible for a 1/2ton truck.
