I bought these running boards this morning from a girl who took them off her truck and she said that when she bought them they said they were "universal" so I took a gamble and bought them. When I tried to install them, I realized they aren't going to fit unless I really mess with them and potentially really damage my truck or get different mounting brackets. Am I screwed and out $100 or is there anything I can do?

 

 

What did she have them on?

 

She had them on a Nissan Titan ext. Cab, but she said she when she bought them they were labeled as universal. The actual boards are a great length and in really good shape, I just have a problem with the brackets that mount to the truck.

 

If they are universal go to the website for the boards and find a mounting kit for an F150.

 

The issue there is that there are no definitive logos/markings/serial numbers on the boards as far as revealing a brand name. I think I may have been swindled because when I texted her to say that they weren't fitting, and make sure they're universal like she said multiple times, I never received a reply back.

I'm wondering if I can just buy one of these: http://www.jcwhitney.com/1997-2013-f...erid=g202#tab2 or these: http://www.realtruck.com/westin-runn...004Y212MA.html and just drill new holes in the boards, but I really don't have a clue if that's gonna work out. I really hate to be out $100 and have an unusable pair of running boards sitting in my garage and I kind of regret buying these now.
