Swap it. Bought my replacement H-Bar off Ebay for about $115 shipped.

Stringer, please explain the $115 eBay grill. I found this link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Fits-2006-2008-Ford-F-150-Bar-Style-Black-Billet-Grille-Grill-Insert-Combo-/330883790187?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Model%3AF-150&hash=item4d0a35f56b&vxp=mtr
It looks to me like I'd still need the H bar which would be an additional purchase. Is that right? What's involved with doing this?

Not a good choice going from where you're to H-bar grille. Personally, I would paint the grille and call it a day.

I would paint the surround white and get a white emblem overlay

I just PMd you with this link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-04-05-06-07-08-FORD-F150-PICKUP-TRUCK-CHROME-GRILLE-/201132960379?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Year%3A2005%7CMake%3AFord%7CModel%3AF-150&hash=item2ed4756a7b&vxp=mtr
Mine is a full replacement grill, not an overlay.
The link you have is for inserts that go around the H-Bar meaning, you are correct and would need to purchase the H-Bar grill as well.
