Mines always done it. Goes away of you let off the gas or give it more gas. Does it when the trucks lugging in 4th with the TC locked like when your lightly pressing the throttle to keep speed up a hill or something.

Mine does it too - ever since I a CAI was installed. Not a comforting sound or feeling, thats for sure. Threw the stock back on just to see, and noise was barely noticeable. As stated before, this is when you're engine is under the highest load (TC locked, slight acceleration, but not enough to kick it out of lock-up), and it can't clear exhaust fast enough. Clogged cats will accentuate the noise as well.

I have a K&N filter so maybe that's making it worse.

You guys were right, when I shut the OD off it went away. I think something intake related is making mine worse.

Well I found the problem. It was the foam on the intake shelf...it was completely deteriorated and allowing air to enter and make a whole lotta noise. Replaced the foam with high density foam from Lowes and it's completely gone and the engine is much quieter overall.

Could you tell me exactly where the foam is you are referring to? My buddy has an 04" and we are trying to diagnose a noise similiar to this.

The thing that the air filter sits in that you pull out of the intake. There is a piece of foam on the bottom of that piece. You should see remnants of the old one when you take it out.
