Hub/IWE Help/Guidance needed on Lifted F150
Hey fellas.......I'm wondering if anyone else with a lifted truck has encountered my problem (BDS lift specifically).
I've chewed up 2-3 IWE actuactors in the last year, without even doing any heavy torquing on it and I've actually tried everything to make sure they engage -- doing it at a stop, slow forward, slow reverse, then proceed to make sure they have every chance to engage.
But I finally realized the problem. I have the aftermarket BDS 6" extended knuckle and from what I can see.....it does not allow the hub to sit far enough back even when its torqued flush in. So when the actuator engages, there is only a fraction of the hub teeth it can grab. It's as if the knucle is an 1/8 of an inch thicker so that the hub sits juuuuuusst that far away. Not like these give you alot of grab anyway on either side.
Anyone seen this???????? It's almost like it's design is slightly flawed so that the hub can be where it needs to???
