well today i go fill up at the pump right. And i just did a little check up on my truck and looked around it. so then i find that my driver side coil is broke tell me how this happens all i have it a 3 in leveling kit on it from hbs and i have not off roaded my truck. this is bull**** well if any of u have had this problem tell me how its happen. i just dont understand how a truck wit no off roading dose something like this.

check if the ball joint was hiting the coil... a 3 inch level will put that ball joint at a bad angle causing to hit the coil, other than that yeah I think is bull****!!

That's the problem with leveling kits, like everything else it has trade-offs. Its a simple and inexpensive way to get some lift, but it puts the independent suspension far from factory geometry. This leads to premature failure of parts, especially when you start adding heavy wheels and tires to the equation. A 3" leveling kit will create some pretty extreme angles, and it is likely the ball-joint was hitting the coil and eventually cracked it. It doesnt have to be offroads, just simple speed bumps, dips or potholes in the road can do this.

I don't see how you can be upset on a spring breaking when you installed a lift kit. Gotta remember, Ford designs the stock suspension to work with a certain geometry; you change that, and you have to accept the consiquences. Good thing you did not go offroading...may have had a more serious breakage.

Gotta do research on these types of mods before installation to avoid the situation you're in now.

well i have never herd of a coil breaking over a 3in leave kit
