I just picked up this 04' 5.4 4x4 trying to get an idea of what MPG i should be looking for. Besides the K&N air filter in the stock air box, The truck is Stock, Had plugs and some coil pack replaced (as needed).has 138K miles. I reset the digital MPG reading on the dash almost through my 1st tank of gas on its only up to 12.6 MPG. I do a lot of freeway driving and i have had a very easy foot on the pedal. My questions are:

1) What MPG does your 5.4 read?
2) Is that reading accurate to your actual fuel used?
3) What mods / Maintenance have you performed to increase your fuel usage?

Obviously this is a truck and we dont drive them because they are fuel effecient, Im just trying to make sure that I am getting the most out of it.
the factory window sticker said 15 city 18 hwy. Are they even close?
This is a 04 Supercab 4x4 with 6.5 ft box

35's tires. 6 inch lift , 4:56 gearing, cai, programmer . dual exhaust ,12 Miles a gallon

I find mine is actually about a half a mpg less than what the dash says. Level, 33s, flowmaster exhaust, k&n drop in, superchips programmer i drive about half and half and get 14.2.

Same here cept I have a different brand programmer... If I'm real easy I can get close to 16mpg

I'm getting 12.2mpg but I just added a edge evo. hoping to get a couple more mpg's out of it...

I have a level via Bilstiens with 33" tires and an Edge Evo, set on #2. I get any where from 13 to a high of 17.2 but I had to REALLY baby it.

I miss my 5.4 F150, I think my EcoFail V6 gets the same mpg.

mine is 2005 Lariat , leveled and sits on 325/65/18. Here is what I have done so far...

Replaced all plugs and boots.
KN cold Air intake system
Edge EVO set on Level 2 (used settings from another member in another thread about Edge settings)

1st tank of gas was Exxon and got 12.8
2nd tank was Shell and got 13.8
3rd was Hess (a independent station in SC) got 13.2

Every tank since then has been hovering between 13 and 13.8.

Two days ago I changed my Edge settings and when I checked today I was at 14.5. Running the Hess Gas. Cant wait to see what Shell gas does....

I do mixed driving of city and interstate. Probally 50/50

What settings are you using? I just got the edge evo. Trying to figure out which setting gets the best mpg's....
