Default How to use My 4X4 Correctly

I am a first time 4X4 owner and I wanted some advice...

I have a 2005 4X4 Automatic with the 4X4 shifter in the floor which indicates 2h - 4h - N - 4L .... What is Neutral for and should it be left in 2H at all times for reg driving???

What is the proper way to switch into 4H and back to 2H or 4L

Do I turn the truck off, or place it in neutral first or do I shift the 4x4 into the neutral postion before egaging the 4h or 4l

I am fine with reading - 4X4 For dummies if anyone has an extra copy

I'm sure you read it but whatever you do, always come to a complete stop before switching to 4lo!
