Default Another fan speed question

07 F-150 Screw,Fan only works on 3 and 4 settings nothing on 1 and 2.Do I replace the resister or the switch or both? Does not matter if on AC or heat.
Thanks Soby

I have a similar problem, except it only blows on 4. 1,2, and 3 blow the same amount of heat/air.

Usually the resistor. Do you have ETAC(electronic climate control) ?
If so,might not be resistor, but still the cheaper choice first.

Thanks Soby
I have a 2005 Ford F-150 Super Crew and I am having the EXACT same issue as you. Nothing on 1 & 2 speeds but 3 & 4 work (although the through put is like 1 & 2 settings). This just started a week ago.

If it is the resister, where would this be located? Also, what would this look like? I really don't want to take it into the shop to be robbed.

If not resister, could it be a fuse? If so, any ideas on which one?

If you, or somebody could post a picture, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks guys,
-JM

Not good with pics but I'll try to explain. It's down under the dash by the passenger side kick panel in the heat duct by the fan. It's a rectangular shape with i believe 4 wires plugged into it.There are two screws holding it in.It's a simple fix. Go to Ford and get one that way you can (see what your looking for). The parts guy at Ford said it's a common problem I paid $18 something for it.Hope this helps

Thanks! Yes, sounds like you take out the glove compartment and it should be there. Thanks for the info.

This forum rocks. So happy about people willing to throw a hand in and help out. Totally appreciated.

part number: 3F2Z18591AA - $26.00
Shop quote to look at it (mine might be under warranty) $75.00
Getting help online and fixing it myself - priceless.

Just completed this yesterday. Thanks again for the help. I did have to un-hinge (not remove though) the glove compartment. Worked like a charm.
