Default Looking to buy, have a question

Hey guys, I've been lurking for awhile and need to ask you guys a question.

Im looking to get into a truck and I'm a Ford guy so an F-150 is my only choice. A wrangler possibly but I'd rather have a truck. So ever since this body style came out when I was in high school I've been in love with it, but most of the trucks I find are going for about $17k (I live on San Diego) and have a good 75k+ miles on them. I have a 2012 focus and I guess I'm worried about going from a new car with 8k miles to something older with so many miles. So my question is, typically how many miles in do you have to start worrying about tranny or engine issues. Little things here and there I don't mind but I don't want to have to rebuild or replace the tranny after a year or two even. Thanks in advance guys!

All depends on how you treat em bud. Mines a 04 lariat 4x4 with 167,500 miles no problems.

Wow these high mileage trucks and no problems makes me feel more comfortable at looking into one. My two "must have" options are 4x4, and the 5.4, I feel like the 4.6 is a tad small for this truck, and I've read a few threads on here that agree with me. Plus a 5.4 will sound nicer with a borla!
