Default How the f#%k do you replace automatic shifter handle

I have a nice 6 **** revolver automatic shifter handle that I would like to put into my screw fx4. How the hell does one change the handle? Do I need to completely disassemble the console to accomplish this?

Thanks

The floor shifters in our trucks are specially designed to"grab" a thin plastic rod that actuates the shifter mechanism. The handles also have a spring in them. Are you sure your new handle will work? If it will in fact work, here's how you remove it ; slide the chrome stem at the bottom of the handle down with a little force, then there's a round black plastic keeper under the handle. Stick a small flat screwdriver between the gray plastic handle and the keeper and pry the keeper down. Slide if all the way down and now remove the handle. Lift up on the handle, moving it in a slight back and forth motion and it'll pop off, just be careful that you don't lose the spring that's in the handle because they're a **** to find anywhere, don't ask how i know, LOL!
Can you post a pic of your new handle here? I
I'd really like to see it.
