PIcking up the full set up: check valve, nearby hoses, T, etc ($15 at dealer) so hopefully all will be fine

Improved but not cured. Not enough emphasis from group 🙂 on the SECOND check valve down the line. Pulled it; tested it; blows clear thru both ends. Will get the Motorcraft valve this time. Funny thing, (really?), after that valve failed my test I decided to put it back till tomorrow but blew thru it again and it worked properly, so I thought just maybe.....but test drive proved otherwise and when I pulled it and tested it again it failed. I’ll get this thing yet.

It's weird I know. The flapper inside these valves can have some small dirt or particles trapped that dislodge sometimes and other times don't. My new motorcraft valve was faulty out of the box. Third time was the charm. There's actually a THIRD check valve mounted on the brake booster's drum thing on the driver side firewall, this is the first check valve that comes in line with the hose leading from the main vacuum source on the engine. That one was fine when I tested it.

I replaced the lines that connect to the solenoid (which includes the first valve), as well as the SECOND check valve a little further down the line just past the control module and things improved but not resolved. The new check valves passed the blow test, whereas the old ones failed miserably.
I cannot find the third check valve you're talking about, and didn't notice it in IWE vacuum diagrams. More info?

I’ll take a pic of the third valve when I can. Do you still hear hissing or can you hear grinding from your wheels when the engine is under a load?

Yes and yes. I thought I’d checked that line you’re showing. I’ll check again. May have missed it because of that shield.
