When I had my 01 4.2L F150 I always went 10K before changing the oil with Mobil 1 full synthetic 5/20 and a Wix filter.

I just bought an 08 F150 w/ 5.4L last Saturday and want to know how long between oil changes. I plan on using the same type of oil and filter.

The truck only has 24K and the dealer did an oil change before I brought it home. I don't know the type of oil/ filter they used, it was a local Ford dealer.

Should I change at 5K, 7.5K or 10K? I guess I could look in the manual but I trust the opinions stated here. Add 1/2 can of Seafoam 50 miles before the change?

7.5 with full synthetic. An 08 with 24K...nice find...I thought I had low mileage

Been changing mine anywhere from 6k to 7.5k.. Previously used Mobil 1 and motorcraft filter and now I've switched to Amsoil and Pure One filter

I have an 05 w/ 55k on it and I use regular Valvoline motor oil (not synthetic) ans as you probably know ford recommends a change every 3,000 miles but I go about 4,500 to 5k I figure its worthg a 35 dollar oil change to avoid engine damage

im using the recommended motorcraft oil , and replacing it every 3k.... im going to step up to synthetic and may go up to 5k interval changes. will have to check the oil, if dark, replace it.

and yes, i add 1/2 can of sea foam before the oil change, and run it for like 50 miles. so far, the last change, the oil come out a bit cleaner than before, good sign.
