The reason you got flashed was because your HID's, installed in a non projection housing, blinds other drivers you share the road with. While you may think you got a whole lot of light with them, you really did not get that light going very far ahead, but rather it was splattered wide and shallow. HID's are designed for projection type housings, to get the high intensity light focused in a beam out. The stock housings do not do this.
I agree with you, I'm just saying its perfectly OK to put hids in the stock housing, it does no harm, a lot of people do it, the projector is absolutely the way to go, I'm just not a huge fan of the projector look. I bought my truck with projectors on it, they absolutely control the beam, I simply don't like the look. I am very impressed with this new led setup and will get a couple pics up tonight.

That's wrong on so many levels. If "a lot of people" drove their truck off a cliff, would you do it too? By your post, you would.

It doesn't matter if you like the look of projectors or not. Putting anything other than HALOGEN bulbs in HALOGEN reflectors is wrong. Even LED headlamps are in projector type housings.

So no, it's not "perfectly OK to put hids in the stock housing."

There's nothing wrong with it, because you aren't the one driving head on at your truck, being blinded by some lights that are in there to look pretty.

My HIDs in oem housings worked fine nothing wrong with them! My friend has them and his truck is squatting so it does blind the oncoming driver because the way his headlights are adjusted. I never got flashed for mine

I'm after picture comparison as far as brightness. Sitting behind the drivers seat and a front view. I'll be using the stock housings no matter what your personal opinion is. Just bought the truck a week ago and would like to make a few simple but noticeable upgrades

LED's are okay in reflector housings if aimed correctly. This coming from a guy who thinks anyone with hid's in a reflector housing should suffer from waterboarding....

Why on earth put in bulbs that "look" cool, but function at a reduced rate of normal bulbs? To do that means you are a moron. Aren't headlights on vehicles so you can see better at night or in reduced visibility situations????????????????
