My buddy has shielded LEDs and I refuse to have him drive behind my truck as he still blinds me and they've been angled down.
They still scatter the light instead of projecting it

Thinking of getting these - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B016RX806Y..._HfrjybBZD9YWB - for my 2006. Anyone heard or seen any issues putting a complete system in like this?

Thanks!

When you get 40% of the buyers giving these lights on Amazon 3 stars or less then you're asking for trouble. Apparently the LEDs don't last that long. Sounds like cheap Chinese junk. The good stuff is never cheap. Good design and quality control takes time and money.

I have a set from a forum vendor (yes, the $150 set) and 2 sets that are IDENTICAL from 2 separate sellers on ebay ($50 per set). One is Broview brand, the other was unbranded and arrived in the SAME EXACT box as the set from the higher dollar forum vendor. So far, several months on all 3 sets and not a single bulb or ballast issue.

I've been running LED low beams in my stock housing for the past five months. I've had a few people flash, but I don't find them any more irritating that those who have stock HID's that blind me while driving. Mine are aimed down, but not so much that I can't see where I am going. I did wire my high beams to my auxiliary Hella F500 long range Halogen lights, and have been very satisfied with my lighting solution since doing so. The LED's/HID are a significant upgrade over stock halogen as they do a fine job in picking up the reflective street stripe pigment or the reflective signs. <br>
Everyone has their own opinions on running LED/HID bulbs in stock housing, but it's working well for me so far and I am happy with my results.

I just installed a set of LED's from LED headlight pros. They fit in my stock 2008 housing. Installation took 15 min side. I haven't had anyone flash me yet. They are an upgrade to the stock OEM halogen. Its a H13 bulb so low/hi combined. The only issue I had was proper bulb alignment as it has 4 LED strips, 2 toward the front and 2 toward the back and no instructions. A simple call to them was all that was needed.

I tried the OPT 7 LEDS in my 2011 reflector housing and they sucked. They light was beautiful, but the throw was horrible. The light scattered and was very patchy. My stock halogens threw further than the OPT 7.

On that note, I still want to try another set of LEDs which I have seen and read nothing but good things. 4x4truckleds are supposedly much better. I have yet to try them, but I am going to buy a pair very soon and try them out. I'll let you know how they function compared to the OPT 7.

It's not the bulb, it's the reflector. The stock reflectors are built to reflect an omnidirectional halogen bulb, not an LED which is only lit on two sides and in different places. Changing the bulb from one LED to another won't do much if the reflector still isn't built for it. Unless there's some bulb I don't know about that fits into the stock halogen housing and does well. My experience wasn't great.
