Default HID or LED?

recently got HIDs by opt7 for my 2008 F-150, never had a problem with HIDs until now, they blow fuses, and if i have the automatic headlights on they shut off when i start the truck, i have to turn them off and back on to get them to come back on. i had them on all my previous vehicles, but they were all pre- 2000. maybe my '08 is a CANbus vehicle?? i was thinking about switching to LED, Just wanted to know, what brand to get or the problems that may come with LEDs.

Did you have HIDs in the factory reflector housing? That's a big no no! LOL Im sure youll hear all about that! There are a couple people on here that can definitely recommend a good LED that will work good in the factory housing if that's what you still have.

Either can be good if done correctly... I have a HID retrofit and love it.

You have HID retrofit with projectors? If so then I wouldn't call that HID in the factory reflector housing as its not using the reflector housing to direct any light. HIDs in a factory reflector housing USING the reflector housing can not be done right. It WILL cause glare and blind oncoming drivers but Im not getting into this. Just please don't run HIDs in a reflector housing.

You need to install them with the OPT7 relay kit, then they will work properly with the automatic function. (and yes I have projectors)

I understand and I kind of figured you did since you said retrofit. However OP did not say retrofit anywhere.

If you're using a stock halogen housing, neither.
Strongly recommend HID's in retrofits though, they make a huge difference. You'll be able to see everything and not being that guy blinding everybody else on the road

You dont know what you are talking about........many members here run LEDs in our stock reflector housings and have nobody flash us, ever. Have you tried the shielded LEDs such as the ones 4x4truckleds sells?
