hid catastrophic meltdown

Okay so this piece of my hid kit got wet. I am under the impression it is a relay. Not positive. Wondering if by any chance I could bypass or jump it out of the circuit.

That would be your relay (I think) I've never seen one with a PLASTIC cover...

I would get a hold of the manufacturer and ask why it's seal failed? A relay should be water tight. You CAN bypass it, but don't. You could cause problems with your stock wiring and it's anyone's guess what kind of hell you'll be dealing with then.

Okay man thanks a lot.

that is a high/low controller. that is what is used to pull back the bulb to give it high beams.

Any idea how to fix it or replace it? I have called ddmtuning a million times. One time explained, got put on hold 22 min then they Hung up . Anyone live close? San Diego or hunting beach

Ugh this relay being broke is a pain. I have all the other components and speaking with ddmtuning customer service is like eating a soup sandwich. Who else should I contact?

.....another manufacturer to get another kit. Too bad they have a lousy customer service department. I'd call them one more time and let them know you plan to post their lousy help, and will let as many folks know on as many forums as you can. Maybe that will get you some deserved attention.

Whatever you do, do not bypass a relay. The HID relay is there to protect on electrical overload of your wiring. Bypassing it can cause a wire to get too hot, melt, and possibly cause an electrical fire; not good under the hood.

Okay buddy thanks for the help know that problem may not pertain to this forum but I'm not really satisfied with the quality or customer service

Just my $.02 but you should call the Better Business Bureau and report them. If it's warantee issues or lack of customer service it's good to report that. Enough of those can put them out of business. I don't want to get on a soapbox but customer service has been in a catastrophic decline over the past ten years and it makes me wary where I spend my money.

You're not the first to experience bad customer service with them. I have a few DDM kits and have been lucky so far. But others have posted some problems...mostly with their service. I did notice the last 2 kits I bought from them shipped direct from the manufacturer in China.
