Rough Country Lift Kits
Hey guys,
Yes, I know people hate the rc kits, but I have one on my truck thats been fine. I would like to upgrade the front strut/spring from the one that came with the kit. It uses the spacers instead of one solid strut like factory.
I've heard that if you upgrade from the kit strut, it will raise the front end slightly in comparison to the rear.
If any of you have changed struts out from the kit, what did you use?

Which are you talking about, a leveling kit which raises the front like 2".
if you want to put in new struts I'd run the bilsteins which have a few different spring perch slots for ride height. stock, +1", +2" then you could throw away the rc spacer and just use the +2 slot on the Bilstein. I think rancho also makes a strut with similar slot method of raising the lower spring perch. If you have rough country struts I don't know if you can go back to Bilstein because they use the stock lower spring perch and there may be some differences.

This kit uses spacers that fit on top of the struts to get the 6" lift. I am wondering about maybe installing just a 6" strut (with no spacer).

Well I see rough country sells a 6" lift strut called the "n3" the looks like it does away with the spacer block since it's made to go with your kit that might be the way to go.
I'm sure there are others out there but I have no experience or interest in that much lift just what I googled. I saw a catalog listing for dirt logic 6" coilovers and a couple others as well as one for bilsteins that said 6" but I know nothing about any of them.
