Default Help trans issue

Drove to store today with no issues.got back in the truck started it up and it makes a rattle sound.. Upon reving it up and when it came back down it would rattle.. Coming from The bottom by the trans.. Well I didn't make it home ..

I was driving along and the trans just let go.. I coasted to a stop then it stalled. Now it won't start as if the starter is just spinning but not engaging
2007 f150 4.6. 4x4 automatic
any input will be greatly appreciated

Going right out on limb/guess here but & if you're lucky I'm thinking your starter motor drive disintergrated (I didn't hear your noises)
You will have to remove the starter to check..........On a bad note it may have taken your ring gear with it.....
Keep your fingers crossed !! & let us know the final outcome....Good Luck !!

I cantvsee how the starter would stop the truck from moving when it was running.. I was doing about 50 mph when it seamed like the truck went into neutral..i coasted to a stop .. Then it died..
