That sucks! You wouldn't happen to have the part number would you?

There is a difference between two numbers... 5451700 is for RWD apps while 5451701 is for 4WD.

I'm RWD. I reached out to Raybestos for an assist...not that they will. I can't even find sway bar end links in their online catalog.

Don't worry about the washers. I'll swing by Home Depot and pick up some flats to place atop the existing cupped ones. Appreciate the offer, though.

Just called Raybestos...who referred me to Raybestos Chassis...who referred me to Federal-Mogul (makers of the end link in question). Supposedly, the Raybestos 545-1700 and the AC Delco 45G20700 are the same part (AC Delco professional series are rebranded FMs). I'm even more confused now. Is it possible the thread length was cut incorrectly on both of mine?

I think adding some washers under the nut on your new links will work fine. I wouldn't hesitate to do that.

FYI. I called Federal Mogul and spoke with their 'garage gurus' tech support. He said that this certainly wasn't a common problem, and while they can't officially tell me to put washers on it, he saw no problem in doing so.

It's possible the part is misboxed. But I'm with the group... A few washers won't hurt anything.
