So it turned out the Dorman phaser I put on, immediately broke upon starting the motor, my driver’s side cam also had to be replaced...
a whole new timing job was just done and aside from the typical manifold leak, it seems to run awesome. I haven’t been able to drive it yet.
Also in regards to dropping the pan, my guides and tensioner a were all intact.... nothing in the pan

I am ashamed to admit, I bought it knowing how terrible the reputation was, because it was the only thing available immediately at the time for me.
