Default Help! 2008 F 150 wont start

OK so I got the great idea to cut the power wire feeding the 12v power source and wired it so it goes on and off with the key and not just stay on so my gps goes on and off with the key. well it worked great but then it would not start. OK Computer detects cut wire? ok put it back the way it was, power works the way it did, but truck still wont start, just turns over and over not even trying to start. Do I need to reset computer and can this be done by just diconecting Batt?

Check for blown fuses on what ever circuit you were cutting wires on.

Could be. Check your owners manual on the operation of the PATS system.

Oh god! Ok I fixed it. I was looking in The Owners book under fuses and noticed there is a fuel pump reset switch there. not sure how I triggered it when i was in fuse box, but hit reset button on it and it started right up!

Thanks!

you probably did but check fuel pump fuse , the best fuse checks are performed with the fuse in place and multimeter in dc voltage mode unlike other people who take the fuse out and perform a continuity test.
