Default Heater Fan Only Works On One Speed

Hey All! Searched the forums but couldn't find this problem. Turned my heater on today and all I had was number 4 on the fan. Any ideas what this is? Its a 2005 XLT with AC. Thanks.

same problem with my 2006 f150, changed the $24 resistor control module in about 10 minutes and fixed the problem.

What lagasvd said it's most likely the resistor pack I had the same problem it's located behind the glove box held in by two bolts.

this is common on older BMW's as well. 99% of the time its the blower resistor.

Perfect! Thanks for the quick answers guys. I'm gonna hit the auto parts store today to see if I can get a resistor. Its kinda cold here and one speed is definitely a pain.

Very very rare that if this is your issue, that it is not your blower motor resistor. You will have to start checking power. You may have to splice the harness to see if power is leaving the resistor. When I got mine off ebay it came with a new harness I never used.
