Default Heater/AC Control Module

I installed a new radio this past December and when i put the face plate back on the AC and heater controls stopped working. Fidgeting with it we got Heater controls to work but during that process, my dad comes outside and uses his expert electrician skills and shorts 2 contacts on the back of the control module and now they barely work. I was gonna go to a pull-a-part this weekend to grab a whole new assembly for the truck, just wanted to know if that would fix my issue or if its a fuse i need to replace, if so what fuse is it? I could get my heater to work but not the AC, since its warmer up in Indiana, id like to get my AC working. At the same time, my rear defrosters stopped working, along with my 12V plug under the dash. That is why i think it may be the fuse or the whole control assembly.

Any help is appreciated, Thanks!

I would check your fuses first.. passenger kick panel and there are some A/C relays under the hood too. Fuse panel diagrams can be found on google images. If your Dad arced something it could of blown the fuse.

Have the 'expert electrician' diagnose and fix it.

Perhaps you damaged a wire installing the headunit. Double check your work.

Got a new face plate with AC controls on it and it fixed the issue, mightve flexed the control unit while trying to remove the connectors which killed some of the controls or my dad fried part of the circuit. If anyone is interested the new face plate and control together was $30 at a pick-a-part.

Hahaha right!! I now look for hot wires by just touching them. Lot less hassle than getting out that new-fangled multimeter.... LOL
