*I needed to get new headlights since I just received a ticket for my oracles and just didn't want to deal with them anymore. So I ordered a set of headlights off eBay and 2 led cubes.1, 2,

* My friend actually came up with the idea to put the led cube in the blinker spot. A simple sketch of the first idea. *

Then I was gonna use an amber led strip and use it as back lighting behind the cube for the blinker. But the led cube was to big for the reflector bowls. So I figured it would fit better above the blinker and I could still retain a factory blinker reflector. After I got everything thing in the mail I started by baking the headlights apart. I surprised my self and got each one open in the first try. *

This is the back of the housing. I just used the mounting brackets it came with and drilled a hole through the back of the housing. Because it lined up directly with the the housing.*

I started hacking away at the housing.*6

I was just test fitting the lens to make sure they would fit fine. They fit but we're really close. I ended up cutting way to much plastic so I had huge gaps as you can see.*6

So I got some scrap plastic cut it to somewhat fit and got some epoxy.*

After that I sanded it down to sit somewhat flush with the housings. I don't have a picture of that before paint so here it is.*

As I was getting ready to seal the up I ran into a problem they wouldn't close all the way cause the cube was rubbing on the inside of the housing. So I had to trim the cube a lot but I finally got it to close good.*

Here they are installed.

Here is the back of the headlight with the bolt and the wire for the cube.

Here's how I tapped into the high beam wire and my relay setup. I know it looks kinda messy but I know exactly what's going on there.

I'll get some out put pics later once I get the headlights aligned.

I was actually just going to do this myself! I have seen 1 other person do it with there 03 f150 but no one for 04-08. I was going to put the led cube in place of the headlight. Looks really good!

This is the one in the 03.

The reason I wouldn't do that is cause that can't be Street legal. Can it?

This is exactly what I was wanting to see. Awesome man

Whats the purpose of putting the cube there?? I'm curious.. And is it bright enough for headlights?

If anything I would say too bright. I would compare it to a 55w 6500k hid

I actually know the guy that built these. Alex. No way legal. There are tons of guys replacing headlights with led products. Way too bright and dangerous. Mostly why they are on Show/SEMA trucks. Even though I have them lol they are strictly backroad/no-traffic lights. They are not DOT approved and even deemed "for offroad use only" at virtually every seller. Essentially the same as driving around 24/7 with 55w HID high beams, if not brighter.

I have them hooked up to my high beams. More light!!!!!!!! And yeah its plenty bright enough for headlights, it's too bright that's why they are my high beams.

Has anyone else done this sort of thing!!! I've been thinking about going this for a while, but couldn't find others who have....until now lol. Do you have any problems with heat from the led cubes?
