Head light/Fog lights upgrade
Hey guys, new to the forum. I just picked up an F150 2008 Lariat Supercrew. I'm looking to upgrade the lights for better brightness/visibility. I need some recommendations on what to get. Just bulbs, or the whole light assembly, what's the best bang for my buck?

You can always do some brighter Halogens, easiest way to brighten without really any work. If you're going for a different color then Led's or HID's. But I would strongly recommend HID's into a projector. The reflector buckets in these trucks don't send light download well enough for HID's and especially LED's. But if you just want a cheap color change then Led's are a way to go. But again u would strongly recommend these white halogen bulbs over LED's they're "Philips crystal vision" or something like that. A Google search would find them for you. Then there's the light pod/ light bar route. I have a 50" curved along the top of my windshield and love it. Fog lights are being replaced with 4 4" pods, or you can mount all sorts of stuff behind the grille of you want a more minimal look. The "H" bar grille blocks some light so it's better if you have a mesh or aftermarket grille if you choose that route. Lastly their is the whole new housing or rebuild. Personally have my eye on the Anzo U-Bar housings, or you could do a retrofit. Depends on what life want to spend. Form what I've seen a retrofit can be costly, but they look great. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the replies fellas. I think I'm just going to go with the brightest halogens I can get for now, and save the extra money for a tonneau and good floor mats, and maybe a spray in bed liner. Too much stuff I need and want, and not enough cash for all of it the same time!

That's an option. Just be careful on the wattage of halogens. I don't know how these trucks are or what the wiring is rated for, but if you put a halogen that is higher wattage then the factory ones, you run the risk of melting the harness (i know this first hand on an older truck).
Say the OEM's are 55w, you'd be fine with probably a 65w but I wouldn't put say an 80w or what not in there, it's risky.
They do make wiring harnesses w/relays to help this. Basically your factory wiring goes into the harness, harness into the bulb, and the harness goes to ground and power from the battery.
If you need anything, LED wise or HID wise, shoot me a PM.
