I've always had yellow fogs in my cars fogs, when I got my truck I ordered some right away, cheap as hell for like $10 on eBay, best fog light I have ever had, cut through the mountain darkness in Idaho so good.. The brand on them were NRG, had then for about 2 years and one died, ordered from the same seller as before but got a different brand, emailed him and asked if he had that specific brand but he didn't. The ones I have now are to to bright so I can't keep them on all the time or I blind people, but very bright when I need them

Hella has 55 & 100 watt yellow bulbs. I wonder if the 100w are too hot.

Yes, I agree. That is a proven fact. You have to sacrifice higher output for shorter life, or longer life with lower output. That's just the way it is.
I use 25W Cree LEDs for my foglights. I'll be upgrading to aftermarket headlights with HID projectors at a later date.

I think yellow is better in "white-out" conditions E.g. major snow storms with near zero visibility.
