Question Hates TBS Whistle!

So, I tried searching around for almost two days, finally gave in and signed up. I bought the truck with an Airaid TBS (400-531), and the CAI? on my 08 5.4l f150 xlt 60'th

Getting pretty tired of listening to the TBS whistle, and would like to remove it. Only thing is that the TBS requires longer bolts, and im not sure they will work if i remove the TBS. Does anyone know the sizes of the original bolts on the stock TB or if the longer bolts will still work?

Would like to know before i pull it apart, because obviously the back two are loads of fun to get at. I would like to do this myself, and avoid the stealership. Will i need to replace any gaskets once its apart? I need to have everything ready before i attempt this because its my only set of wheels.

Thanks for the help!'

Sean

Shouldnt be that hard at all to take off. Not sure of bolt size but you could buy some washers to compensate. Fyi the CAI can cause these trucks to run lean.

hmm. seems to be running fine for now (fingers crossed), i also have a Edge Evo CS that has a "custom tune" according to the guy i bought the truck off. I couldnt imagine removing the TBS would cause any problems with that. The whistle is driving me nuts, and hopefully it is the TBS causing it. Can't really get it to whistle when trying to find it in the garage. Seems like it only whisles when under load.

You want to sell the tbs? I'd be interested in buying it.

I have read that they are useless and don't really add anything. Besides the annoying whistle IMO sounds terrible. Some like it some don't. Wish I could pinpoint the Whistle is coming from the TBS And not a bearing or something else.. I don't think there's room for washers at the base of the TBS so I don't think that will work for me I think I will need the correct length of Bolt
