Hard to Steer
#11
raise the front wheels of the ground, look through the left front wheel you will see the upper "u joint" on the steering shaft. turn the wheel slowly (many fords will easly airrate the power steering if you start turning the wheel quickly back and forth with it off....) you should be able to see that when the steering starts to stiffen the upper knuckle will be flexing downwards. This part is very easy to change. Lock the steering wheel with something (shouldnt move that much but this is a safety thing)
the bolt in the top is a 13mm. once thats removed you should be able to slip that joint down of the steering colum. now you will have to get under the truck and locate the lower u joint that sits right behind your lower rad hose. its a 10mm this will alow that u joint to push up off the rack.
I should note that before you start removing the bolts out of the joints turn the upper one so that its facing the brake booster this should put the bottum bolt in a position that is easly accessed since you cant move either once you have one of the joints removed....
i really hope this helps you and doesnt confuse you more lol

Detailed writeup
Thanks everyone for your tips, I found this thread when I was looking into the same problem. I did a detailed writeup (it solved my problem!) in another thread.
