Hard to get reverse/starting
Hey it's my first question ever so, here goes nothing. I have a 2004 F150 Lariat crew cab (not heritage) At times when I put it in reverse, I need to move the console shifter back and forth until it goes into reverse. Also, sometimes it will not start unless I turn the key on to unlock the shifter, move it back and forth then back into park and it will start. I don't believe it's a huge problem as in the tranny its self but more of a electronic or a mechanical issue. If anyone has had a similar issue and fixed it or you know exactly what it is that would make my next task a lot easier. Thanks in advance for any help.

Thanks, as I was researching the problems I did come across that and another possible issue. I appreciate the input.
One more question. Would the neutral safety switch or Tranny range sensor have anything to do with the issues I explained above. Because the shifter moves freely with no issues it's just hard to get the exact location for reverse. I had only one incident where it would roll back even when it was in park. It was as if the shifter wouldn't quite make it into park completely. Thanks again.
