do u feed them ,do they let you touch them ? i have been terrified of those since i was a kid i was fishin in a pond and two of them came right at me , have to understand i was small probably 10 yrs old so they looked huge they had a nest around the pond i think anyways i ran left the pole and everything

If you go by Thier nest they will run towards the threat. This pair has been around our nieghbor hood for about 4 years now. The male will allow you to touch him, but not the female. She will come and take seed n bread out of our hands, but that's about it. It's nice to see them have a second brued. The last one they had stuck around for about 10 months to a year. Then one day we never saw it again. So it must have flown and found a mate.

yeah that's pretty cool, post more pics whenever u can , scary but cool birds , i watch them hunt at a river nearby

anyone really ever ate crane or heron? would have to taste fishy they eat toads and fish ,they are too awesome to ever kill i'm just asking before the laws passed.

I had one eat two of my spinners when I was Bass fishing with my son. Damn basterd swam faster then I could reel it in, came right up to the boat. Had to take my bat and wrap the side of the boat for him to leave. LOL
