Default Grille removal

Ok peeps. I'm trying to remove the grille to give it a fresh coat of paint but the 6 10mm nuts won't come off. The stud just spins on every one of them. Is there a trick without destroying the grille?

I removed and replaced mine a couple months ago. I recall having to get my fingers behind so they wouldn't spin. I ended up getting all of them though.

This is the only video I came up with but he breaks the grille to get to the stud.

I don't think I can get my fingers behind there. I was thinking about cutting the studs off with a dremel but I'm need a way to reattach it if I do that.

If you want, I can go take one of those nuts off and see how I did it? I recall it being a little annoying, but I got them all off in about 10 mins and I didn't break anything.

If you would I'd appreciate it. I'm cheap so I don't want to buy a new one if I don't have to since there's nothing wrong with mine.

I used a pair of needle nose vice grips on mine, worked like a charm when I swapped grills

Where do you clamp onto? The end of the stud? I messed with it yesterday but I can't see any way to get it off without destroying the outside of the grille. It's just a damn grille it shouldn't be this complex...lol
