Wow, this just went into all kinds of geekery, and I love it.
I understand the ramifications of a ragged, square hole in the side of a tube, especially a tapered tube that was formerly being used as a diffuser to recover pressure from velocity that was being used to sap the energy out of intake sound blah blah blah...

And I was intending to math some things, cut a slot across the bottom of the tube, heat the plastic, and make a really cool jet intake looking shark mouth mod...

... But then I was sweating my *** off under the back of the truck, getting 85w-140 Motorcraft with 150,000 miles on it all over me and the driveway, when a bolt of apathy came over me...

... And I said &-#!it... I have a Dremel.
Truck feels happier and sounds better. Cuz MOAR AIR!

But, please, don't stop with the geeking, I've rarely seen better on a forum for full size pickups. There's too many people on here that still believe in 'backpressure', this thread is giving me hope.

I saw a TV show where some guys hooked a leaf blower up to their intake and called it a turbo.........that might help your flow.

I'd run ethanol free in the blower though, I hear regular is hell on small gas engines!!!

Oh.....only back pressure round here is when my wife wont get off my A**!

lmao, don't get me started on that old crap.

You know what improves back pressure? A cork in the tailpipe

I am definitely an auto geek. As a young man I used to read my dads automotive text books for fun. That's where this addiction started. I just couldn't get enough information, still can't.
