Good Radar Detector Brands/Models???
Got pulled over the other day and slapped with a ten over speeding ticket. :censored: And to make it worse, the Highway Patrol was a freakin jack ass and started testing my window tint, and told me I needed mud flaps and fender flares cuz my tires stick out like half and inch past the wheel wells. Anyway, I think it's time for a good radar detector. I don't drive like a crazy person and don't intend to. Just would like to avoid those situations the best I can. What brands and models does everyone recommend? I've heard cheaper one's don't work worth crap? Any feedback would be nice. Thanks!

Hands down the best radar detector out there is the Valentine One. It's pricey(around $300 bucks) but the poeple who have it says it's worth every penny.

ive always trusted cobras you can get them at a good price dont buy the 40 dollar one from walmart if you can find a 100 or 150 dollar one it should do what you want i paid 150 for my xrs9670 at radio shack it does 15 radar bands plus has emergency vechile warings on it so there not bad ....

dont waste your times or money on a radar detector....just drive the speed limit....and trust me i know....using the hold feature, radar can leave the instrument, bounce off your truck, and get a reading back for the officer to read and have locked before your detector even makes a chirp....same with laser, and no radar detecter can pick up vascar....doesnt matter if your spend 50 bucks on one or 500 bucks on one....just slow down....its ultimatley cheaper...

If they are using laser - you can't beat it, but for the majority of other bands out there, you still can get great protection. |
Been through many detectors the valentine has saved me atleast 1500 bucks by now

i got a cobra thats 16 yrs. old and still picks up a signal from 1/2 away. not bad for a $79 dollar detector.
