Looks are a huge reason why people do this. I put MT's on my truck because the repair shop was footing the bill so I went with what I really wanted.

I'm sure there are things we all do that make others question why we spend our money on that. For me it's those putting large chunks of money into a stereo system for their trucks. I just don't see the need for it personally, but it's not my truck or my money and if that's what they like then go for it. I surely do appreciate the looks, the sound and the effort that goes into it though.

Just in case you need to pull a stranded motorist out of a jam, or depending on where you live snow, or like us here in sweet home alabama, we will have to pull our buddy out of a jam cause he drives a chevy and says "hey watch this" because he seen a ford do it on youtube. CHEVY(cause, hazards, every, violent, year) have you noticed how bad its gotten here lately

love the 33's with the 2" level on mine, zero rubbing and more room to flex for the occasional off road driving... you"ll be happy with 33's, esp gas mileage too

I have a 2.5" leveling kit with 33" BFG All Terrains on 20" RBP rims. They rub only when I turn all the way

It's not just the diameter that will rub. That 12 1/2" wide tire will also rub slightly on the a-arms and sway bar at full lock. I think you can go with a 285 or 305 tire and 34" diameter on a 2" level and have zero worries of ever rubbing. I have 285 75 17 Toyo MT's on mine that actually measure 34.1" diameter and they have 1/2" clearance everywhere.

Cheers,
Pete

I have 33 s on a 2.5 leveling kit. It rubs a little. I wanted to run 35s. If you want it to look tough. I went with the 6 in fabtech suspension lift

WILL THEY FIT? Wondering if the sidewalls of the new KM2's are too wide and will rub more than another tire of the same size.

THANKS IN ADVANCE
Not sure if this will help but I am running a 18x9 +18mm offset wheel with 295/70R18 Nitto Trail Grapplers. That is equals out to about 34.5/11.5R18. I also have a two inch leveling kit and My tires rubbed on the front lower valance and I had to trim a piece on the back of the wheel well.

The backspace on a +18mm is about 5.75". I would be careful getting a tire that tall/wide with only a 2" leveling kit. It would suck not to be able to turn the wheel because of the rubbing.

Okay I had the same questions back than.. Here is what I found out and did as you will see in my sig...

33"x12.50R17 tires (18" will be fine to) will fit perfectly with a leveling kit..

35" tires WILL rub.. Its close to the valance of the front bumper.. The 33" is pretty close but fits perfectly..

Now to the mudding comment... Its people's preference on what they want to do.. Some people like the look of it more than actually using it.. I rather have a clean truck with the bigger wheels and lift kit.. I don't need to prove the FORD can go mudding.. We all know this.. We all own the same vehicle can we just calm down.. Everyone has their own opinion on how they want to use/drive their vehicle.. Its there American Right to do what they want with it.. Lets all be friends here and let everyone do what they want..
