Default Gas Mileage Increase

When I bought my truck a few months back it was getting about 13 mpg. I did the Gotts mod, and put an AEM dry filter in. I noticed a little increase in the mileage, to between 14-15 mpg. A couple weeks back I took off the stock exhaust and had a Flowmaster 40 Series (single in/dual out) put on. Today was my first fill-up on the new set-up - 15.8 mpg with the air ON, I'd guess 90% of the time. I also noticed better throttle reponse. Happy as he** - plus I love the sound! I'm guessing maybe $300 for the whole deal - $260 for the exhaust, $40 for the filter, and $20 or so for the Gotts mod. Worth every bit.

An engine is often compared with an air pump in the way of making it perform better; allow more air out, and allow more air in.

Wow, not a bad increase at all. I pretty much have the same setup without the Gotts mod and I get around 13mpg's. I should mention that I recently installed a 2.5" level and 33's with the 5.4, but I really dig the new stance!

Is that the actual mpg? Or is that what the dash says?

I don't have the gotts mod, but I do have a flowmaster exhaust, I have 33" BFG's with 5100's leveled and I get 13-17 mpg with mix of mostly city.

If my indicator needle is accurate I get like 15... Around 280 miles on 3/4 tank. And 24 gallons fills the tank from when the low fuel light comes on

The gotts mod is replacing the piece that goes from the air filter cover into the fender with a piece of pvc
