Great thread! Saved me a lot of diagnostic time. My FPDM was rotted so bad that as soon as i turned the bolts it fell off the frame.

i back probed mine because i was having the same problem..i would get power at the pump but only when i was down there and never when i was starting it. watching the voltage fluctuate with the dmm hooked up and checking wires helped me narrow it down to a bad connection...check the ground connection as it was corroded just like my fpdm...once that was fixed voltage held constant around 5.5 while idling

If you go on Ebay there are a few listed on there. They say it is the same module but just a different mounting bracket. just type in fuel pump drive module

This thread saved me a ton of money, just wanted to say thanks to all who posted, my truck died three days ago. Just going down the road and it was like i shut the key off. Because of this thread i changed out my FPDM and all was good, only cost about $85. Thanks again.

I checked the voltage and it's getting 12.4V to the pump. The truck will start, but wont take fuel and eventually shuts off. I'm lead to believe this may be a problem with either the Fuel Pump Driver Module or possibly even the Powertrain Control Module?? If anyone knows, is there any way I can check the FPDM without having to go buy one? Or does anyone have any suggestions at all, if Im perhaps way off here?
yeah i had the same thing happen and after a lot of $$$ and cursing i did some research and found out its the fuel module, fixed many problems my truck had. i just spaced the new module and got some rubberized undercoating and prayed the underside just for extra measure. hope your trucks up and running.
