Default Front end whine. Identification help please!

Hi all. Been having a weird noise from front end of my truck. 08 F150 5.4L 4wd. Shop looked at brakes, front diff, wheel bearings, and pulleys. Noise is speed dependent. Link below to my video on YouTube Let me know if anyone has any ideas. Thanks!

Hello,
I'm sorry but I didn't really hear the noise well from the video over my cell phone, but I wanted to relate my 2006 issue in case it might be similar. I had a whining at around 1500 rpm on cold days. It took three trips over the course of a year and a half before the dealer figured out that it was a bearing on the alternator. The last tech knew what it was right away, but they went as far s ripping my transmission apart in the beginning. I forgot about it, but reading your post brought it back to the top of the stack and wanted to relate it in case it helps someone out.

Hi Alynn. I considered that it could be that actually. Temperature has no effect on my noise that I can tell. If anything I would say it gets worse when it's hotter outside. I appreciate the reply though, so many things it could be. Ugh.

Did you have any update on this noise?

Hi Stephen,

It was my number 9 Torrington bearing in my tranny as luck would have it. Got it fixed and she's running like new.

I'm worried I’ve got a Torrington bearing issue. Mine whines whenever I’m gear except when coasting or in overdrive. Otherwise shifts great. May I ask how much the repair ran you?
