Default Check for vacuum leaks

Either use the propane test or build a cheap youtube smoke machine . It is not hard to do . new steel paint can, some thru the lid fittings, some clear tygon hose, a couple of pounds of compressor air into can with a cigarillo taped to tygon hose inside and watch smoke flow up to your brake vacuum booster hose fitting . It took me three cigs to get the leak to show ,they burn out fast . No you can't have engine running for smoke test . Some guys use cotton , some use a plastic 5 gallon pail , I would put a metal pie pan in bottom . You just have to be quick with the lids .
Don't cause a fire kids-- and use long pieces of tygon to get can away from truck.
You can find a schrader valve at hardware store to put air in can ,use a lock type air fitting or a friend to hold it .
It killed me to buy tobacco as I quit 45 years ago .And oh yes I'm cheap ! I love my little rig and I'm going to keep it , the mechanics gave up looking for this problem but the can found it in a few minutes .
Have a good time anyway .
