What did the gauges say? I would definitely change the plug (maybe all of them) new plug wires, and probably a new coil. Then as stated above leave the battery disconnected for 30 minutes to clear the codes. Then start it back up (I don't now if the V6 uses the same relearn procedure as the 5.4) and see how it runs. Also see if the check engine light comes back after that. Then let us know.

so the mechanic next door checked it on his computer for coding and it said it came up as PCM, he wanted us to rechange the coil on 5,6,8, cylinders so we did that again and it is still running bad, so do yall think I just need to go buy the PCM?

Clean the Mass Air Flow sensor using ONLY MAF sensor cleaner such as. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Crc-Indus...eaner/39950006 again do use anything but a mass air flow sensor cleaner. Don't touch the MAF sensor. If this doesn't fix it then clean the throttle body and/or replace the MAF sensor. If those don't fix it then yes you may be headed for a new computer.
