Sounds like it's in limp home mode... weird that it isn't telling you that, though.

There we go. Now were getting started. If the check engine light is on then there will be a DTCs stored in there. Go to The AutoZone and get the code pulled then come back here and tell us the code. We will give you somewhere to go from there. My guess is misfire somewhere but get us that code to start.

P0305 is a misfire on cylinder #5. That could be plug, or boots and spring. This is the first thing I would address and see if the other codes go away or see if somebody else knows more about the P0106.

P0106 Im not sure but here is what the interwebz say. http://www.engine-codes.com/p0106_ford.html

P0316 I would lean toward being connected to the misfire on cylinder 5. I would first fix the misfire and hope this one goes away also. https://www.engine-codes.com/p0316_ford.html

P0316 is misfires within the first 1000 revolutions I believe... as Stephen said, likely related to #5 being dead. When was your last tune up? If recent, I'd start by replacing the plug in that cylinder and check plug wire for damage. Next step would be to check coil - common issue with 4.2 V6. Disconnect battery for at least 30 mins when working on so the code resets.

Should be able to get plugs, wires, and a coil for around $100-ish.

Also, Re-read my above post... My original was on the assumption you had a V8, which has a different ignition system than the V6. I've edited it to reflect the V6 stuff.

Crap! I did it yet again! Im just always on the 5.4 train of thought LOL! Follow what nrivera said. Same track as I was going with but slightly different with the V6. Easier than the 5.4 too!
