What law would that be??? For our trucks I believe they are actually considered driving lights and not "fog lights".

I think you guys are talking about different things at the same time. The original post says when he tries to put his fogs on, his highbeams go on instead and the fogs stay off. This is different than the Bambi mod which allows the fogs to stay on when highbeams are on. According to the post he cant get the fogs lit even with low beams on. And for you more detailed people when I say fogs I mean driving lights.

I was thinking the same thing as nashtruck. Vano, can you turn your fogs on by themselves? Or do your highbeams come on instead?

Most states allow no more than 4 forward facing lights on while the vehicle is in motion on a public roadway. Since many vehicles have separate bulbs for HI/LO, when the HI beam is engaged along with the LO, the fog lights turn off to comply with the law.

but the f150 uses the same bulb for low and high beams.....

ok well you guys can flame me if you want, say its illegal, whatever, doing the bambi mod will fix the OP's problem, if legality is an issue, hid's are illegal (EVERYWHERE) so he is already breaking the law, and if you are really concerned about it simply turn the fogs off when you are planning to use your hi's

Nashtruck is correct (glad someone else reads clearly).

My fogs do not turn on at all. When I pull the Fog tab to engage them, the High Beams come on along with the High beam indicators. The fogs NEVER turn on. By pulling the tab to engage them, it actually swaps from Lo to High and does not turn the fogs (driving lights) on.

I don't care about what laws are allowed or not. I want my fogs to work. I'll use them when I want and take my chances with tickets. Get back on track posters or start your own thread to talk about Lighting Laws. Not bein a jerk, but man, this is goin in a way thats not gonna get me an answer.

I'm going to attempt the Bambi mod this weekend and will either post a success, or another thread to help resolve still.

Thanks Azmidget, Nash, and AKCowboy.

Vano, are you sure you have the correct relay type in the fog slot? The circuit that turns off the fogs with the highs could be working the opposite way.

I see what he's saying with the Bambi mod, it basically eliminates the highs from the circuit diagram making it so the current couldn't be diverted.

Thats the thing. I swapped out all the relays with others in the fuse box and nothing tricked it back to normal. Nothing also went wrong since I placed the old relay in a new spot (that should have tricked something else into not working, but nope, everything is ok except the dogs). I also went and bought a relay, R202. This is under the hood on the driver side fender. Still, no fogs.

This has been going on for a month. I posted a thread when it originally happened (when I was using both regular bulbs in the headlamps and the fogs) but never got a reply, tons of views those. So after getting my Bi-Xenon headlamp kit (hoping this would fix it) my high beams came back but still no fogs, and the fog switch turns the high beams on, not the fogs. I'm baffled...
