Fog light switch
I would like to be able to turn on my fog lights interdependently from my auto or regular head lights. So, is there a way to switch some wires so I can turn them on with the existing pull out switch? I've seen treads on here about having them come on with the high beams but that's not what I want.
Can you not turn yours on in the Park Light position? Also, I suppose I should ask as I'm not sure where you are but do you have Daytime Running Lights?
I've added switches to my console near the cigarette lighter: 1. Daytime Running lights On/Off, 2. Daytime running lights - Headlights or Foglights, 3. Fog lights on with highbeam (sort of like the bambi mod - but independent of low beams as I don't necessarily want them on with lows).
The 3rd option... I wanted to be able to have my fog lights come on with high beams but kick out with low as I have HID's in them.
Additionally, I can put my park lights on, pull the switch out and have my park lights lit up with fogs.
So to summarize, I can control my foglights independently in 3 ways:
1. With just park lights
2. With low beams
3. With high beams
All independent... Obviously 2 + 3 I can force both modes on by leaving both switches on.
Not sure if that's what you mean?

Not sure if I want it to be that elaborate, but to answer your question, yes I have daytime running lights. Will it be easier to wire the fog lights with the DRL's?
Well..... the problem with your DRL's is, whether you switch them to the fog lights, or the headlights, that set of lights is on when the ignition is on period... That's why I added a switch so I could flip my DRL's to headlights or fogs. The tricky part there is you need to get fancy with relay's (or you can get really fancy/advanced with microcontrollers or similar) so that when you flip your headlight switch to ON, it cuts the fogs off (so you can control that with your switch - otherwise when headlights are in on/auto, your fogs are also on which you may not want).
If you want the easiest option, add a switch to disable your daytime running lights. I obviously recommend against killing your daytime running lights entirely that's why I say add a switch. It's a simple relay under the hood (drivers side) that you can cut the ground and wire a switch instead to turn them on/off. If you want to kill the DRL's altogether, just pull the relay out (or even for a quick test to see if that's what you're after). That way, you turn the switch off, your DRL's are then turned off, and you can pull your fogs on manually. Does that kind of work? The quickest thing to try, pull that relay out, see if it behaves how you're hoping?
I definitely went really overkill with my setup LOL.
