Default 04 eating rotors

My girlfriend has an 04 and went to put new brake pads on last night and realized that the rotors are getting eatin away and there is over half the pad left. Checked the thickness of the rotors and they are wore down to miminum thickness. Anyone else experience this? Truck has 48k on it

Default Rotors

Yeah I had that happen when I bought rotors and pads from Autozone. I went through two sets of each in less than a year...needless to say I wont be buying the DURALAST brand anymore. I bought new rotors and ceramic pads from NAPA and have had no problems 25k miles later and a lot less brake dust.

under normal driving conditions how long should one expect the breaks and rotors last?

I pull a somewhat light trailer (3500 LB max) once in a while, some high way travel and a lot of city driving.
