Default Fitting a ranch hand

I have an 07 fx4 with a level on it. I bought a ranch hand grill guard for it but the people at ranch hand said it won't fit cause the 04-05 and the 06-08 were different. How difficult would it be to weld it on and will the hooks still fit if I do?

You shouldn't have to weld it on. You'll need to fab up some new upper brackets, as the mounting points are different in the later years. I'm going thru the same scenario. I saved my grille guard off my '05 before I traded it in on the '07. I've had it mocked up on the new truck. The bottom mounting points are the same- underneath the tow hooks. However, the top brackets will need an additional intermediate bracket to pick up the bumper bolts that are now spaced out toward the lights some more. Once you mock it up, you'll see what I'm talking about...

Thanks for the info man. Once I found out it wasn't gonna fit right I was gonna say screw it and resell it but it hasn't sold so I figured I'll just put it on. So I can order the typical brackets from ranch hand them have to get some extras to make it work? I've never put one on or seen how they work

Did it not come with any brackets? On mine the lowers are sandwiched between the frame and tow hooks. The guard the bolts to these. The top mounts go above the bumper, between the grille and bumper gap and attach to mounting points on the inside of the bumper. This is where your modifications will need to be...

No I got it second hand for a low price. The guy before me also welded L brackets onto where the side holes are so I have to cut that too. But ranch hand wants $60 for the brackets and bolts

So I should buy the 04-05 bracket and bolt set and fab it up after I install the bottom on first?

I got it on yesterday and now I see what you were talking about. we had to drill holes next to the original holes for the upper brackets. it looks like it sits a little lower than it should. but itll work regardless
