Default First Mods

Hey everyone. I'm new to this forum and as you might guess new to Ford's. I just got an 04 FX4 with 25K miles. The truck is pretty sweet as is but I like to make good things better. Since this is my first F-150 I am not sure waht I should do first. Exhaust, tuner, leveling kit, something else... What is your opinion of what the first mod should be. Thanks for all the help.

personaly i went for looks over performance first (black tail lights, black stickers, black emblems, ect.) but the easiest first mod that gives about as much performance as you can get for the money would be a programmer. thats easy plug in power thats automatic.

SethP has a point, a programmer could be a good start. However, if you are planning on doing more performance upgrades, you may put that off. Since most programmers are designed for stock vehicles, to get the most of other upgrades you'd have to have a customer tune created for the programmer. So, for that reason, you may wish to delay purchasing one until you have other upgrades installed, then you can buy one and have customs tunes created for it at one time.
It all depends on where you want to start, appearance or performance....

very true, and with something like the edge evolution you can change the settings to fit your trucks specs, like tire size and small things like that. but if you want to start on performance an dont want the programmer first another good option is an intake. another very simple swap for gains.

Thanks guys. That is a good point but a tough question. Performance or looks. I think Ill go with exhaust first. These trucks are really quiet.

i agree . i did my exhaust first because it was too quiet for me too. i've had my F1 for a year now and im still on looks. as soon as i finish i am going to performance. i figure it's a FORD it's already perfect under the hood!!! lol
