The Final Repair Guide to 5.4 Cam Phaser Tick/Knock Sound
Make sure that your new Phaser Bolts have that captured washer on them. Watch the Video that Brian posted regarding this on Fordtechmakuloco. Also, take a close look at your Power Steering pump while you are in there. I replaced all my idler pulleys, tensioner, water pump, AC compressor with lines, accumulator, and condenser, fan belt, and PS pump. but then, I am a little nuts I guess. I went with the Melling 360HV. I got a very good tip after I went through hell with aftermarket roller followers and lash adjusters. One of the motion pro AM lash adjusters failed in 6 days. (Boy was I pissed) the tip was this: If its inside the engine ALWAYS GO OEM. Outside the engine, I would recommend going with NAPA or other decent source. I used Fel-Pro gaskets throughout, as I have always had very good luck with them.
I installed splice plates on that cross bar that ford did not make removable. (Morons) I removed the radiator, condenser fan shroud, Hood latch, etc, and placed a platform up to about 8 inches from the front of the engine on saw horses cantilevered and counter weighted with two 5 gal buckets of water. I stapled a garbage bag to the plywood platform screwed to 2x4's so My *** would slide, splinter free, into the engine compartment. (Im a Big Guy) This makes all the difference in the world when you are working on this engine, as everything is right there in front of you. If you end up changing out the PS pump, make sure you buy the ARES puller tool. Its indispensable for these engines, just like the Lisle Spark Plug tool. You will also need the roller follower compressor tool. Do not buy a cheap one. They are soft and not worth ****. Again I think I bought ARES. Pretty good tools. Dont Rush, check everything three times. I printed out a front cover pattern and taped to a cardboard box. cross cut the bolt holes and pushed the bolts into the cardboard template so I got them all in the right locations.
Good Luck, Brother!

I would have loved to see a picture of your little chair you built and you sitting on it inside your engine bay. I also used the 360hv pump which every time someone posts about it they say it will blow out the rear main seal. I was getting very concerned.
The eBay kit you list doesn't have the latest roller followers, I believe the latest with the smaller oil holes is 3L3Z6564A. I ordered the "Ford Racing" PN M-6529-3V kit from Summit, these are different but I could not find 3L3Z6564A in a kit anywhere. I have a 2004 and just realized the lash adjusters in that kit may not work in an 04.
Amazon has the M340HV pump for $120ish, I just received it and it looks like a legit part.

Looks to be the same ford part number you reference and they claim 5.4L support

See this thread for info on lash adjusters on 2004 vs 2005-2014. Taking the word of one stranger on the internet is probably not the best idea, but there were several in this thread reporting success putting the "newer" adjusters into 2004 engines...

I used this part number for the roller follower (rocker): 3L3Z6564A.
I used this part number for the lash adjusters (lifter): 3L3Z6500BA
This was used on a 2004 f150 5.4l 3v just 2 months ago, 04/2023. It runs like a dream. I can only hear the noisy injectors.

I was putting this pump list together in 2015 right before Melling changed their marketing (the 2nd time) to aim for the 3-valve engine,
Jasper was the 1st that I knew of that took a stance on pump size to use in their 3-valve rebuild business.
