Where's the cheapest place to pick up a set of cam phasers and lockouts? And the lash adjusters

I ordered mine off of Ebay. OEMSelect something like that was the vendor name. I got the phasers, timing components, lash adjusters and followers for around $800 or so. I have not done the lockouts, felt with quality oem parts I didn't need to and a year and half later, still no noise.
Good luck let us know how it goes and if you need any advice on the job.

I think its cheaper to get the stuff separate

Does this cover everything I need? The multi-piece timing kit seems to include the tensioners, guides, chains, and the Crank Sprocket. Is that one okay or is there a better one like the Evergreen TK6068?

You're close. Firstly I would be suspicious of the "camshaft position sensor". That is a VCT Phaser. I also used the cloyes timing set, you won't find a better after market set, however I used a Ford updated tensioner, but cloyes makes good stuff. You went with the right lock-outs but you will need a tuner and a custom tune once they are installed. Because of emissions, lockouts aren't technically street legal so if your tuner asks, tell them the truck is off-road only.

Well, keep in mind that the other size of the cam phaser has the 5 "ears" that the cam shaft position sensor pings off of. While the description is technically wrong, it's close

Best place for Cam Phaser is from your dealership. Call up and ask if they're willing to give you the discount they give to all the muffler shops, collision shops, etc in the area. A lot of them are willing to deal.

The part number is correct and the other side does have the 5 ears also sold by amazon prime so I trust it.

More worried about the cloyes tensioner people are complaining about the seals blowing out.

I went with all OEM parts and have zero complaints with their performance or reliability.

How do I know if my cam phasers are bad, I don't have the ticking noise at idle but do hear what I think is chain slap when under a slight to moderate load. I don't really want to change the phasers if they are not bad. I plan to change all of the timing compents as well as the oil and water pump if I have to crack her open

If it were me and I had it open, I would change the phasers out anyway, the new ones are a better design that has a solid pin in them, the old ones had a hollow pin that would break. Even if they are the new ones, putting a new set in yourself helps you to build your maintenance records and you actually know that they will (or should) last for a good while. Just my 2cents though.

I installed the Livernois cam phaser lockouts 2 days ago, and while I was in there, the timing chains are loose. so I suspect a broken guide, stretched chain, bad tensioners or a combination of all of them. so I am taking the cover off and replacing everything except the phasers. is there a position that I should leave the crankshaft in before I take off the balancer? I understand the chain positioning when I install them and where the phaser left and right should be on the chains.
