It's not wrong. The first time is usually fun, but then it just gets monotonous because there is no more adventure, just work.

Big problems. Have the rh valve cover off. Phaser bolt snapped and chain came off sprocket. This thing is destroyed.

RH chain guide has a snapped bolt as well. Camshaft is marred up pretty good. Looks like at least one bent valve. Gonna be a while before I can drive it again.

No it is not. Looks like the chain jumped a tooth on the other side as well

Well driving home from a camping trip pulling my travel trailer my truck broke down on the side of the road. I have done so much to deal with this cam phaser issue. I bought the lock outs and never even got to put them in yet!!!
Sudden loss of oil pressure was the cause , open up the engine to find shavings in it. I have sent in the oil for analasys and waiting to see results. If its the bearings I think it's time for a Chevy FORD sucks!!!

I'm starting to think that 5w30 is going to be my next oil. Something that looks more like oil, and less like water.

OK guys I'll admit I didn't read all 159 pages but I read a bunch. I had my mechanic install a new timing chain kit and phasers. Everything seems good except there is a rattle at startup now that I never had before. Definitely sounds like timing chain being loose for about a second or two. I spent too much money to have this issue so need to get to the bottom of it. He is saying that there is low/no oil pressure right at startup then builds up fine.
Is there a chance that one of the new tensioners he says he put on has a bad seal out of the box? He is basically saying I might need a new engine at this point and throwing in the towel. I guess there is always the chance that he did not even replace the tensioners. I wish I had the time to do this work myself but it's just not possible.

Thanks upfront for any advice/input you guys can offer.

The only thing that matters at this point is that you have low oil pressure. Try thicker oil. It will bring your oil pressure up. You might make the condition "tolerable" for quite some time.
